      TIPS FOR KERAMIKOS:
(Source GREECE all the time classic).
"The ancient Kerameikos was located in the north-western outskirts of Athens. It was partly
enlosed by,and partly beyond, the walls that devide the area of the excavation. In the centre of the archaeological site are the two best known arches of ancient Athens, the Dipylon where the Panathenaic procession would start and the sacred Arch, where the sacred way would begin and the Elefsinian Mysteries procession would pass through. In the vicinity of the Arches was the most ancient and the biggest cemetery of Attica. Moreover it was the place of burial of the citizens who where honored by the city of Athens. According to the geographer Pausanias, the location was named after Keramos. However, the place was most liked named after the neighborhood of the kerameis (potters).
The neighborhood of the Kerameikos - potters was established on the banks of the river Iridanos. nYou can see the riverbed in the archaeological area. The ancient Demos of Kerameikos covered a large area. Only part of it has been unearthed in excavations. It is thought that the area of the Krameikos was bounded by the north-western perimeter of the Agora on one side and the copse that was named after the hero Akademos, on the other side".

      TIPS FOR GAZI:
(Source Free Copy THE TOTAL GUIDE).
"Gazi the entertainment district spreads out west of Pireos Str. and below Iera Odos Str.! Its name reminds of the gas factory which used to be there from 1862 up to 1864 and today it houses the Technopolis of Athens Municipality, a very important cultural multi-purpose center... Up to the end of 1990's and mostly with the arrival of "Keramikos" metro station (in 2007), Gazi was swarmed with coffee shops, bars, clubs, restaurants, tapas taverns, as well as live stages and art places at the district became a point of reference and a mainstream piazza. Here you can find high-quality places covering all tastes".
