 AROUND THE NATIONAL GARDEN

We are proud of our 169 unique photos in the special album of the National Garden in blog.
Hotel@SyngrouFix proposes to visit the National Garden of Athens. Before we introduce it, and show you our own pictures of it, let us learn a few things with the help of internet. We read the great story of the Garden and struck us both the dream conceived by creators and also the reality today. We decided to make a tour of the Garden and to take photographs of known and "unknown" corners. In our next tour we will explore the  inside of the garden photographically..
The garden is open to the public from the East to the West of the Sun. The main entrance to the park is from Amalias Avenue. There are six other inputs in the garden: one of Vassilissis Sofias Street, three entrances of the street Herod Atticus and two from the area of ​​the Zappeion park. The garden ponds with ducks, a small zoo, a cafeteria, a library and a children s playground.
Henry Miller wrote for the National Garden in 1939: "The park remains in my memory more than any other park I have visited in my life. The essence of a park is like when someone looks at a painting or dreaming to be in a place but can never go".

Σας περιμένουμε να επισκεφθούμε μαζί τον Εθνικό Κήπο της Αθήνας. Πριν σας παρουσιάσουμε τις φωτογραφίες που τραβήξαμε φροντίσαμε να μάθουμε μερικά πράγματα για το κήπο με τη βοήθεια του διαδικτύου. Διαβάσαμε την ωραία ιστορία του Κήπου και μας έκανε εντύπωση τόσο το όνειρο που συνέλαβαν οι δημιουργοί του όσο και η πραγματικότητα σήμερα. Αποφασίσαμε να κάνουμε το γύρο του Κήπου και να φωτογραφήσουμε γνωστές και "άγνωστες" γωνιές του. Σε μα επόμενη περιοδεία μας θα εξερευνήσουμε φωτογραφικά το εσωτερικό του. Ο κήπος είναι ανοιχτός για το κοινό από την Ανατολή μέχρι τη Δύση του Ηλίου. Η κύρια είσοδος του πάρκου είναι από την Λεωφόρο Αμαλίας. Υπάρχουν άλλες έξι είσοδοι στον κήπο: μία από την οδό Βασιλίσσης Σοφίας, τρεις από την οδό Ηρώδου Αττικού (η μία είναι κλειδωμένη με αλυσίδα) και δύο από την περιοχή τού Ζαππείου πάρκου. Στον κήπο υπάρχουν λίμνες με πάπιες, ένας μικρός ζωολογικός κήπος, καφετέρια, η παιδική βιβλιοθήκη και μια παιδική χαρά. Ο Χένρυ Μίλλερ (Henry Miller) έγραψε για τον Εθνικό Κήπο το 1939: "Το πάρκο παραμένει στην μνήμη μου όσο κανένα άλλο πάρκο που έχω επισκεφτεί στη ζωή μου. Η πεμπτουσία ενός πάρκου είναι όπως όταν κάποιος κοιτά ένα πίνακα ή ονειρεύεται, να βρίσκεται σε έναν τόπο που όμως δεν μπορεί ποτέ να πάει."
